Motor and Driver Wiring Drawing

Warning: When connecting the motor to the drive, please make sure that the motor power is turned off. Make sure that the unused motor wires are not short-circuited with other objects. When the drive is energized, the motor cannot be disconnected. Do not connect the motor wires to the ground or power source.

Four-wire motors can only be connected one way.

Six-wire motors can be connected in two ways: series, center-tapped. In series mode, the motor has more torque when running at low speed, but cannot run as fast as when connected to a center tap. When operating in series, the motor needs to run at less than 30% of the center tapped current to avoid overheating.

Eight-wire motors can be connected in two ways: series and parallel. The series mode has more torque at low speeds and less torque at high speeds. When operating in series, the motor needs to run at 50% of the parallel current to avoid overheating.

Control signal input example

Note: The voltage range of the signal input interface in the picture is 5~24Vdc. Whether it is single-ended connection or differential connection, there is no need for a series current-limiting resistor. If you have any other questions, please consult our relevant application engineers.

Notice

1. 2 Phase Stepper Driver DH Series Driver's input voltage should not exceed DC80V/AC70V. The green indicator PWR is on when the driver is powered on.

2. The drive fault indicator light is on, please check the motor wiring and control signal line. If it is motor wiring or other short-circuit faults, it needs to be powered on again after troubleshooting.

3. SW4 is used to set the lock current function: ON=Full Current (full current lock), OFF=Half Current (half current lock).

When leaving the factory, SW4 is set to OFF, so that the heat generation of the motor and driver is reduced and the reliability is improved. The current is automatically reduced by 50% 100ms after the pulse train stops.

4. 2 Phase Stepper Driver DH Series driver has a single and double pulse selection function, which can be set through the communication port. The factory default is pulse + direction.
